Once you open an account with St. Joseph’s Federal Credit Union, you join an elite group of people who understand the value of personal service – people helping people, dedicated to providing each other with stable financial solutions. Your membership, along with your family’s and friend’s memberships, help ensure the growth and prosperity of YOUR Credit Union.
If you’ve been thinking about opening an account with STJ Federal Credit Union, there’s never been a better time! We’ve expanded our field of membership, allowing us to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school within Stark County. In addition, we still serve our original membership: Catholic Community of Stark County.
- Any person who lives, works, worships, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Stark County, Ohio.
- Immediate family or household members, and organizations of such persons.
As a not-for-profit, completely member-owned cooperative, we exist to meet the financial needs of our membership. Our core membership is religious based. We plan to keep this original part of our charter and hope to continue to thrive by expanding our membership to the community as well.
At a credit union, every customer is both a member and an owner. Credit unions are an economic democracy. Each credit union member has equal ownership and one vote - regardless of how much money a member has on deposit. As a non-profit institution, we return our profits back to our owner members by offering better service, better rates, lower fees and special discounts. It’s a simple philosophy of “people helping people.”

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. For you, this means we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask you to provide the following forms of identification when opening an account:
- A copy of your valid state issued Driver’s License
- A copy of one other form of identification, such as your Social Security Card, a student or worker ID, valid credit card, birth certificate, military or other government ID, etc.
Once you become a member of STJ FCU, you’re considered a member for life. Changing jobs, relocating, or retiring does not affect your membership status.
